  • Gutierrez sets two SF records, qualifies for state meet

    FOLSOM, Calif. – Freshman Alyssa Gutierrez took part in a school record in the 4x800-meter relay then later broke another program benchmark in the 3,200, earning a trip to the state championship meet and highlighting St. Francis at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters track & field championship finals at Prairie City Stadium Saturday.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis freshman Bianka Bagatelos finished fourth in the Division I girls’ 800-meter run, not long after sophomore Sophia Kadel placed eighth in the D-I girls’ 1,600, with each earning berths to the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters finals by virtue of their overall rankings at the Sac-Joaquin Section track & field divisional finals and Masters trials, held at Hughes Stadium Saturday.

    FOLSOM, Calif. – Freshman Alyssa Gutierrez won the girls’ 3,200-meter race, then later joined junior Mia Hollar, sophomore Miya Menza and fellow ninth grader Bianka Bagatelos to the second-fastest 4x800 relay time in school history, helping St. Francis forge an early team scoring lead at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I track & field championships Saturday.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Alexa Randall won individual championships in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes, freshman Alyssa Gutierrez captured her second distance title of the week, and freshman Abby Carrothers bested the field in the shot put, helping St. Francis amass a second-place team total of 98 points on Day 2 at the Sierra Foothill League track & field championships, held at Jesuit Saturday.

    DAVIS, Calif. – Freshman Celeste Ramos won the junior varsity girls’ 1,600 meters before adding a third place in the 800, while fellow ninth grader Alyssa Gutierrez punched her tickets to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I meet in the 3,200 and as part of the 4x800 relay, highlighting St. Francis on the first day of the Sierra Foothill League track & field championships, held at Davis’ Ron & Mary Brown Stadium Wednesday.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Alexa Randall won the Invitational 200-meter dash at 24.31 seconds, breaking Cekarri Nixon’s school record of 24.34 from the 2010 Sac-Joaquin Section Masters prelims and highlighting St. Francis’ delegation at the Sacramento Meet of Champions held at American River College Saturday.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Mackenna Miller won the junior varsity 3,200-meter run with a time of 11 minutes, 47.39 seconds; while freshman Celeste Ramos placed second in the JV 1,600 at 5:33.81 for the top St. Francis finishes at the Glenn Rogers Distance Carnival, hosted at Sheldon High Friday night.

    GRANITE BAY, Calif. – Freshman Alyssa Gutierrez won two events, including a massive personal record of four minutes, 53.56 seconds in the 1,600-meter run, leading St. Francis in the third of three Sierra Foothill League track & field center meets Wednesday. The meet was hosted at Granite Bay, with Del Oro and Oak Ridge also in attendance.

    STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Alyssa Gutierrez hit her second personal record in as many days, running 1,600 meters in four minutes, 55.18 seconds, while the 4x100 relay of Lucia Vicio, Emma Bugarin, Gaby Gonzalez and Alexa Randall posted a season best of 48.74 in their preliminary heat, as St. Francis wrapped up the second and final day of the Stanford Invitational track & field meet at Cobb Track & Angell Field Saturday.

    RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – The St. Francis foursome of Gaby Gonzalez, Alexa Randall, Emma Bugarin and Jasleen Gandhoke compiled a time of one minute, 45.85 seconds in the 4x200 relay, breaking the previous school record by almost exactly three full seconds, as one of several Troubadour highlights at the Clarke Massey Relays high school track & field meet at Cordova’s Lancer Stadium Saturday.
