SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Seven St. Francis students won a total of 10 All-Sierra Foothill League first-team certificates, as the Sacramento powerhouse prep league announced its year-end awards for spring sports.
Kinnebrew takes over Troubie hoop helm
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Erik Kinnebrew, a former Jessup University student-athlete and veteran coach for the Sacramento chapter of the Girls’ Nike EYBL-member Cal Sparks, will take over as head varsity basketball coach at St. Francis Catholic High School, athletics director Ryan Chisolm announced Monday.
Troubie trio to rep St. Francis in Optimist All-Stars
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Infielder Isabella Barge, outfielder Marissa Jensen and outfielder Alexis McFarland will represent St. Francis in the annual Sacramento Breakfast Optimist Softball All-Stars. The Troubadour trio plays for the South team in the Large School nightcap.
Gutierrez places fourth, breaks record at state meet
FRESNO, Calif. – St. Francis freshman Alyssa Gutierrez ran the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 15.15 seconds, good for fourth place in the meet and breaking her own school record by more than three seconds as her school’s lone representative of the 106th CIF state track & field championship meet, held at Buchanan High Friday and Saturday.
Gutierrez sets two SF records, qualifies for state meet
FOLSOM, Calif. – Freshman Alyssa Gutierrez took part in a school record in the 4x800-meter relay then later broke another program benchmark in the 3,200, earning a trip to the state championship meet and highlighting St. Francis at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters track & field championship finals at Prairie City Stadium Saturday.
