    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A total of 15 St. Francis athletes won 11 first-team all-league awards as the Sierra Foothill League rolled out its spring standings and honors. 
  • Kapinya breaks school record at CIF state championships

    FRESNO, Calif. – Sophomore Lilla Kapinya swam the 50-yard freestyle in 23.40 seconds, breaking Ava Chavez’ two-year-old school record and finishing 11th overall while senior Erica Jaffe won the 100 backstroke consolation final, leading St. Francis at the CIF State Swimming & Diving championships, held at the Clovis Olympic Aquatics Center Saturday.

    CLOVIS, Calif. – Senior Erica Jaffe finished 11th in the 100-yard backstroke at 56.12 seconds, then led off the 400 freestyle relay to another 11th-place showing, highlighting St. Francis on Day 2 of the CIF State Swimming & Diving Championships at the Clovis Olympic Aquatics Center Friday afternoon. Jaffe joined Isabella Schmid, Mia Hill and Lilla Kapinya in that relay to compile a time of three minutes, 30.40 seconds.  
  • Troubies win third straight Sac-Joaquin Section swim and dive title

    ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior and UCLA commit Erica Jaffe won the 100-yard backstroke and led off two other state-qualifying relay squads, helping St. Francis win its third straight Division II title on the final day of the Sac-Joaquin Section swimming championships, held at Elk Grove Aquatics Center Friday.

    ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Erica Jaffe led the 100-yard backstroke preliminary heats with a time of 57.68 seconds, added a fourth-place showing in the 200 individual medley, while leading off two third-place relays during Wednesday’s Sac-Joaquin Section girls’ swimming championship trials at Elk Grove Aquatics Center.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis Catholic High School honored a total of 17 senior students who committed to compete in 10 different collegiate sports during the spring edition of its National Letter of Intent & College Commitment celebration Thursday morning.
  • Troubie swim finishes third at SFL championship meet

    GRANITE BAY, Calif. – The 400-yard freestyle squad of Erica Jaffe, Isabelle Schmid, Mia Hill and Lilla Kapinya compiled a winning time of three minutes, 31.81 seconds, edging Davis by just a sixth of a second, and capping the final day of the Sierra Foothill League swimming & diving championships at Granite Bay High School Saturday. The Troubies finished third in the meet, clinching a second-place overall finish in their first year in the SFL.

  • Future Bruin leads SF to double wins at double dual

    EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – Senior Erica Jaffe led a 1-2 Troubadour exacta in the 200-yard individual medley, adding a second individual win in the 100 backstroke, and led off winning 200 medley and freestyle relays to pace St. Francis at the third of three Sierra Foothill League double dual meets, hosted by Oak Ridge at El Dorado Hills CSD Pool.
  • Troubies roll past Rocklin, DO in second SFL double dual

    ROCKLIN, Calif. – The trio of sophomore Mikayla Magri, sophomore Landen Didriksen and senior Mia Hill formed a 1-2-3 Troubie trifecta in the 100-yard breaststroke, leading five total varsity wins in a Sierra Foothill League double dual meet at Rocklin with Del Oro. Additionally, senior Erica Jaffe earned multiple firsts in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke while helping the 200 medley and freestyle relays each capture wins.
  • Troubie swim honors seniors with dual win against Rio

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis won nine varsity events and nine junior varsity races to claim a 113-56 win over Rio Americano in a non-league prep swimming dual meet at Jesuit High Thursday night. The dual also represents the home season finale for both the Troubadours and Marauders, with a total of 22 seniors honored during the meet break. Alphabetically for St. Francis, the team honored 2025 graduates-to-be Piper Brostrom, Olivia Charles, Lexie DeAngelis, Miranda Ferguson, Mia Hill, Addison Hutchcraft, Erica Jaffe, Erin Maeng, Marissa Recio and Isabelle Schmid. 
  • Troubie swim wraps weekend at Rio Invite

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Savannah Hamilton won the 100-yard breaststroke, finished in a dead heat with teammate Emma Dietrich in the 200 freestyle, then took part in all four relay races as St. Francis finished weekend action of the Rio Americano Invitational swimming meet at Daniel E. Hall Aquatics Center Saturday.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis sophomore Savannah Hamilton captured the frosh-soph 500-yard freestyle and led off a winning 400 free relay squad while Gabriella McHugh enjoyed the best finish among Troubadour swimmers in the varsity events with her third place in the 50 free, highlighting the first day of action at the Rio Americano Invitational swim meet Friday.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Erica Jaffe won the 200-yard individual medley, the 100-yard backstroke and took part in a first-place 200 freestyle relay, but St. Francis ultimately fell to former Delta League rival and current Sierra Foothill League foe Davis in a league dual swimming meet at Jesuit High Thursday.

    ROCKLIN, Calif. – Senior Erica Jaffe earned wins in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke, sophomore Mikayla Magri captured the 100 breaststroke, while senior Isabelle Schmid made her season debut with a victory in the 200 freestyle, leading St. Francis varsity in its part of a Sierra Foothill League double-dual swimming and diving meet with Folsom at Whitney High.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Mia Hill won two individual events while taking part in two first-place freestyle relays, as St. Francis welcomed Carondelet in a meeting of two of Northern California’s premier all-girls’ Catholic schools as part of a doubleheader swim meet at Jesuit Thursday.
  • Solander era begins for St. Francis swimming

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A veteran coach and teacher at nearby Jesuit High School, Mike Solander assumed the helm of the St. Francis varsity swimming program, director of athletics Ryan Chisolm announced this week. Solander’s coaching duties begin on February 10, the first day of practice of the 2024-25 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section season, although he met with his Troubadour team on Friday for an introductory meeting.
