SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis won nine varsity events and nine junior varsity races to claim a 113-56 win over Rio Americano in a non-league prep swimming dual meet at Jesuit High Thursday night. The dual also represents the home season finale for both the Troubadours and Marauders, with a total of 22 seniors honored during the meet break.

Alphabetically for St. Francis, the team honored 2025 graduates-to-be Piper Brostrom, Olivia Charles, Lexie DeAngelis, Miranda Ferguson, Mia Hill, Addison Hutchcraft, Erica Jaffe, Erin Maeng, Marissa Recio and Isabelle Schmid. 

Jaffe and Hill, who have committed to swim at UCLA and St. Bonaventure, each won two individual varsity events in the meet. Jaffe dominated the field with a time of 24.73 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, then posted more than a six-second win with a 58.28 in the 100 backstroke. Hill led 1-2 Troubie exactas in the 200 individual medley (2:!4.87), along with sophomore Lilla Kapinya (2:!6.79), then went 55.30 in the 100 free, with DeAngelis close behind in second at 56.79.

DeAngelis was also the runner-up in the 100 back to Jaffe at 1:04.39, with Milena Bonnici in third (1:09.66) to form a Troubie trifecta for the maximum 13 points.

Isabelle Schmid won the 200 free at 2:00.74, Recio claimed the 100 butterfly at 1:00.40 and Mikayla Magri captured the 100 breaststroke at 1:10.50 for three more individual varsity victories. Meanwhile, the foursome of Jaffe, Magri, Recio and DeAngelis opened the meet with a gold in the 200 medley relay (2:06.67), with St. Francis adding eight more points with a first place in the 200 free relay  (1:54.72).

Among JV events, the Troubadours won all three relays, with Emma Dietrich (200 free), Lena Moggan (200 IM), Lillian Damrell (100 fly), Elyse Pometta (100 free), Savannah Hamilton (500 free) and Kendal Douglas (100 breast) snaring wins in the individual events. Oddly, one of the junior varsity events that Rio won went to a former Troubie: Raider junior Maya Slaughter took down that race in 27.99.

St. Francis returns to action in back-to-back Sierra Foothill League double duals: at Rocklin with Del Oro on April 3, followed by Oak Ridge with Granite Bay one week after. Both meets begin at 4 p.m.
