Troubie golf claims another SFL win at Turkey Creek
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Freshman Chloe Jun posted an 8-over-par 44 while junior Arden Han-Wei and sophomore Nydia Garcia each finished a stroke back at 45, leading St. Francis to a 240-255 win over Whitney in a Sierra Foothill League dual match at Turkey Creek Thursday.

The win improves the Troubadours' overall and league record to 3-1. More importantly, the match provided a preview to the site of both SFL tournaments this season, held on October 1 and 22. Those league-wide events determine qualification to the Sac-Joaquin Section postseason.

Sophomore Momina Niazi added a 48, with junior Gianna Seghesio (58) edging senior Neta Tovar (59) for the fifth counting score.

Whitney's Nailah Jackson birdied the par-3 third and par-four sixth to move to two-under before finishing at even-par 36 for the day. She had the best overall score from the two teams, but the Troubies won the match due to depth – that is, four players with scores in the 40s. The next best Wildcat was Stella Kim at 45, with no other players carding better than 54.

St. Francis returns to action on Tuesday in a dual match at Del Oro, held at The Ridge in Auburn.
