Han-Wei's eagle highlights Troubie league win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Arden Han-Wei fired an eagle 3 on the 13th hole to highlight an overall 3-under-par 33, leading St. Francis to a 209-224 victory over Folsom in a Sierra Foothill League dual match at Haggin Oaks Monday afternoon.

The Troubadours improve to 2-0 both overall and in SFL play after their 2024 home opener.

Freshman Chloe Jun added a 2-over 38, draining a birdie on 13 alongside Han-Wei's eagle. Momina Niaza added a 42, Nydia Garcia turned in a 45 and Gianna Seghesio carded a 51 to round out the SF scoring. Neta Tovar, the team's lone senior, finished with a round of 53.

Junior Amelia Karnbanjong led the Bulldogs with a 1-under 35, with senior Bella Bistline scoring a 5-over 41, but no other Folsom player finished under bogey for the round.

Monday's dual was a rescheduling of the September 5 dual, pushed back by four days to avoid the previous week's heat wave, although temperatures hovered at more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit for most of the round.

The Troubies return to action on Tuesday with a home dual with Granite Bay, then return to the road on Thursday to take on Whitney in continued SFL play. Schedule note: Thursday's dual will take place at Turkey Creek, not Morgan Creek as was listed on previous schedules.
