JV Red blasts Woodcreek in Rocklin tourney opener

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Freshman post Sydney Chow recorded team highs of 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the St. Francis High junior varsity Red squad to a decisive 52-11 win over Woodcreek in the first round of the Rocklin Winter Tournament frosh bracket Tuesday morning.

The Troubadours win their seventh consecutive game, moving to 8-1 for the season.

Chow also led SFHS with five steals. Alexis Heise added 11 points while Lilian Vicio chipped in another 10 to give the Troubies three players with double-figured offense.

St. Francis held the Timberwolves to no field goals in the second half. Woodcreek managed one free throw in each quarter after a 26-9 halftime break.

The Troubies will face Oak Ridge at noon on Wednesday in the semifinals. The SFHS JV Gold also plays in the tourney, also against Oak Ridge at 6 p.m. Tuesday night.
