JV Red storms through Trojan Toss-Up opener

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. -- Freshman guard Lilian Vicio scored a game-high 12 points while Alexis Heise and Aubrey O'Donnell each snared 12 rebounds to lead the St. Francis junior varsity Red squad to a 52-8 win over first-year program Twelve Bridges in the first round of Oak Ridge High's Trojan Toss-Up basketball tournament Tuesday.

The Troubadours will face the host Trojans at 1 p.m. in the semifinal round.

O'Donnell was brought over the the SFHS JV Gold team to help fill the JV Red roster, which is reduced due to players being away for the holiday break. She added 11 points, including nine in the second half, to complete a double-double. O'Donnell was also the Troubies' assist leader with five.

Vicio scored 10 of her 12 points in the first quarter. Heise scored six points, as did Perpetua Nwaukoni in her St. Francis debut. Nwaukoni added seven rebounds. Another post, Sam Martinez, also made her first appearance of the year, responding with four points and five rebounds.

The JV Red improves to 5-1 for the year. The Trojan Toss-up continues through Thursday.
