STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Jasleen Gandhoke tied for seventh place in the high jump and finished 12th in the 100-meter hurdles as the last remaining St. Francis entrant in the Stanford Invitational track & field meet Saturday.

Gandhoke ran a 15.81 in the hurdles to finish fourth in her heat and 12th overall. She then returned to the high jump apron ro clear 1.58 meters, or 5 feet, 2.25 inches. (The Stanford Invite is primarily a collegiate meet with events for high school participants, and thus measure all field events in metric units.)

St. Francis sent a small crew to the prestigious meet, with Halle Welch and the distance medley relay foursome of Sunny Schranz, Brynn Baker, Sophia Kadel and Miya Menza competing on Friday.

Meanwhile in the San Joaquin Valley, a group of throwers competed at the Mustang Invitational, hosted by Tokay High at Delta College. Sophomore Christine So won the frosh-soph discus throw at 87 feet, 1.5 inches to lead all Troubies at the meet, while junior Antonija Jezildzic enjoyed SF's top varsity finish of fourth in the discus (92-8).

The St. Francis program returns to its third Sierra Foothill League center meet on Wednesday at Del Oro. Granite Bay and Oak Ridge also convenes to form a triple dual. Meet time is 3 p.m.
