FAIR OAKS, Calif. – Sophomore Alexa Randall won the girls' 200-meter dash by mere thousands of a second while fellow 10th grader Jasleen Gandhoke dominated the field in the 100-meter hurdles, highlighting St. Francis at Bella Vista High School's Bronco Speed Festival track meet Saturday.

As the name suggests, the Speedfest only features sprints, hurdles and the two short relays. The meet concludes a split-squad weekend for the Troubadours, who sent delegations to both the Granite Bay Field Festival and Oakmont's Valhalla Distance Carnival on Friday.

Randall and BV's Hanna Gossett crossed the finish line together at 26.10, with Randall being determined the victor after closer inspection of the FinishLynx timing photo. That established a personal record for the SF tennis and flag football standout, and represents the fastest time by a Troubie sophomore since Kiana Reyna and Lillian Enes posted sub-26 times at the 2014 Rio Linda Invitational.

In contrast to the photo finish in the 200, Gandhoke had no peer in the 100 hurdles with her winning time of 15.80 seconds – almost a full second faster than Ponderosa's Elise Maxwell at 16.62. That marks a season best for the team's leading high jumper, and the fastest since her PR of 15.44 in last year's Sac-Joaquin Section Division I final.

Randall also added second-place finishes in the 100, with a PR of 12.77; and as part of the 4x100 relay, which compiled a 50.57 in the day's opening event. The latter beat St. Francis' previous 2025 best by a hundredth of a second.

Sophomore Norah White also finished second in the 300 hurdles with a 48.78. Gandhoke led the Troubies with a third-place 1:02.35 in the 400 and a fifth-place 27.38 in the 200 – already ranking among the team's top season performers despite both being off events for her.

The Bronco Speedfest issues awards to the top six finishers in each event. Other Troubadours picking up such medals were Colleen Medina, fourth in the 400 (1:02.81); and Jada Dwyre, who took fifth in the 100 (12.98).

St. Francis will send Gandhoke (high jump, 100 hurdles), Halle Welch (3,200 meters) and a distance medley relay foursome to the Stanford Invitational, held at the university's Cobb Track and Angell Field next Friday and Saturday. The next full-squad meet is the third Sierra Foothill League triple dual at Folsom on April 9.
