WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Monet Zauner scored three goals within a span of four minutes to lead St. Francis in a 4-0 shutout of Pioneer on the first day of the Raider Cup Classic girls' prep soccer tournament at River City High Thursday afternoon.

The Troubadours improve to 3-1 for the season, with all three wins by shutout.

Zauner's first two goals came in nearly identical fashion, with sophomore Azaria Agbodike assisting from the left corner into the center of the penalty box in the 19th and 22nd minutes, respectively. Then 90 seconds after completing her brace, Zauner struck again on a long counterattack that ended with a shot finding the left side of the cage with 12:03 remaining in the half.

Senior Holland Sperber tacked on a fourth goal with 1:45 left in the game, or 69th minute. She advanced up the left sideline, turned inward toward the left post, and fired from a tough angle near the endline. The Houston Christian commit had missed twice from that spot earlier in the half, but this time her shot glanced off the Patriot goalkeeper and into the cage for a goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Mia Rabinovitz notched her third shutout of the season, this time without recording a save. In fact, St. Francis did not surrender a shot until the one-minute mark in the contest. Senior Maylina Ruiz fired cross-cage and missed wide of her target.

Zauner now has six goals in her first varsity season, after leading JV Gold with 22 scores in 2024-25. Agbodike and Sperber made their season debut in Thursday's tourney opener, having completed their club seasons during the previous weekend. Agbodike logged 12 goals with five assists for JV Gold as a freshman, while Sperber netted four goals for varsity as a junior a year ago.

The Troubie varsity squad will face Chico at 5 p..m. on Friday. JV Gold begins its run for a third consecutive Raider Cup, first doing battle with Pioneer at 9:45 a.m. followed by an afternoon tilt against Chico at 1:30 p.m. Both JV games take place on the grass field behind the main stadium, while the lone SF varsity game contests in the stadium.

St. Francis' JV Red also resumes action on Friday, taking on California at Carondelet's two-day Macaulay Cougar Classic at 7:30 p.m.
