Rose Conlin is in her third season playing lacrosse and second season on the varsity. She was inspired to play the sport by her little sister. She will be attending Duquesne University.
How is your senior season going with lacrosse?
"It has been good. It has been a lot of fun. The girls are all great. It is a smaller team but we have all bonded really, really well. It is good to get to know the coaches. They are fun to play with and they always keep us laughing. It has been a great season. I am going to miss the girls when I go."
What are your individual goals for the year?
"I want to improve on my defensive skills and being able to catch and make things happen on the field. I have only been playing lacrosse for three seasons. The last two years I started to get the fundamentals and how the game worked. This year I want to execute what I have learned."
Tell us about your time as SBO Ministry Coordinator?
"It has been really rewording to be SBO Ministry Coordinator. I learned about it because my sister had set her heart on doing it and I saw how much she enjoyed it. It was something I wanted to do as well. It had its challenges like Homecoming Week with very little sleep. Spending all your time with seven people caused some little arguments but overall it has been super rewarding. It has taught be a lot of great leadership skills."
How did you discover Duquesne University?
"My mom was born and raised in Indiana, Penn., about 1:15 from Pittsburg. I have always loved Pennsylvania. When I started looking at schools, having a Catholic University was really important to me. I want to be a nurse and Duquesne is one of the top nursing schools and it is on the East Coast. It checked all my boxes."
What would be a perfect final two months for you at St. Francis?
"I want to take it all in. I am sad to be leaving. I am not just leaving St. Francis but Sacramento as well. It is weird leaving. I have never really felt at home in any place but St. Francis and Sacramento have brought that for me."
