  • Basketball’s Mia Fleming-Mullins Named All-State by CalHiSports.com

    St. Francis senior and the University of the Pacific commit Mia Fleming-Mullins has been named to the CalHiSports.com All-State fourth team, the website announced. It caps off a senior campaign in which she was named the Delta League Player of the Year and selected to the Sacramento Bee All-Metro, Optimist and All-NorCal All-Star teams.

    Senior Mia Fleming-Mullins is one of 13 players on the Sacramento Bee’s fan vote for Player of the Year. Fans can vote for her until Friday March 27. Voting ends at noon Friday, March 27. The Bee will select its own players of the year in addition to the fans’ vote.
  • Basketball's Nicole Rivera Recognized with Jersey Mikes Naismith Courage Award

    Nicole Rivera was the school’s nominee for Jersey Mikes Naismith Courage Award. She overcame an ACL injury entering her freshman year, doubts about her participation in the sport last year and an ankle injury this season. She received a certificate at the team’s awards banquet last week from Jersey Mike’s. Here is her story:

    Senior Mia Fleming-Mullins was named the Delta League Player of the Year as selected by the league coaches. She was among five players recognized with all-league honors.

    St. Francis seniors Jasmine Lee and Mia Fleming-Mullins will get to represent St. Francis again as both were selected to play in the 43rd Annual Basketball Optimist All-Star Game set for Saturday, April 11 at Cosumnes River College at 2 p.m. Fleming-Mullins was also chosen to play for the Sacramento team in the 4th Annual All-NorCal Games to be played at Las Positas College in Livermore on April 5.

    Mia Fleming-Mullins is in her third season on the varsity team. She was named the team MVP as a junior and earned All-Delta League honors. She has been the CalHiSports.com NorCal Player of the Week. She is being recruited by several school and has been offered a preferred walk-on spot at the University of Pacific. Her fun fact is she hates chocolate.

    The 11th-ranked St. Francis basketball team lost to No. 6 Woodcreeek 58-45 on Tuesday night in the opening round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I bracket. The Troubadours finished the season at 15-14 on the season.

    The St. Francis basketball team was awarded a No. 11 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoff bracket announced Saturday and will travel to No. 6 Woodcreek on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
  • Basketball Splits Final Two Road Games, Awaits Playoffs

    The St. Francis varsity basketball team closed the season with a 78-51 loss at Davis after a close 56-54 victory over Sheldon to complete the regular season at 15-13 with a 8-4 league mark to finish third overall in the league standings.

    The St. James Falcons won the St. Francis PAL Basketball Tournament on Sunday with a 45-31 win over St. Francis Wolves. Eighth grader Bria McGahan led the team with 17 points in the final, earning a spot on the eight-player All-Tournament team.

    Hannah Malek has been part of the basketball program for the last four years, serving as the team manager and lead statistician for the varsity team the last two seasons. She played and managed on the JV and freshman teams her first two seasons. She is the captain of the competitive Latin Certamen team. She is the mythology expert for the team. She will dress tonight wearing No. 20.
  • Basketball Falls to Franklin 58-45 for First Home Loss

    With first-place in the Delta League on the line, the St. Francis basketball team fell to Franklin 58-45 Wednesday to drop their first home game of the season. The Wildcats remained undefeated at 9-0 in league play, while the Troubadours fell to 6-2.

    Natalie Graybill is in her first full season on the varsity team. She had a varsity single-game best six points against PG after averaging 6.7 ppg. last season on JV Gold. She played competitive soccer up until freshman year and has an older sister alumna Adrienne ‘18. She part of the National Charity League in her free time.

    Senior Mia Fleming-Mullins scored a career-high 31 points including 12 in the decisive fourth quarter as St. Francis posted a 56-40 win over Cosumnes Oaks. The victory was the fifth consecutive in league play for the Troubadours.

    Sarah Cloninger is in her first full season on the varsity team. Her breakout junior season has her averaging almost a double-double with 9.2 ppg and 9.0 rebounds while recording four double-doubles. She has tallied a career-best 16 points twice this season among 10 double-digit scoring games. Sarah’sfun fact is she can juggle. She has a younger sister Amanda, and her cousin Ally played soccer for the Troubadours. She says, “It was really fun having her as a freshman here. It helped me settle in.”
  • Basketball Closes First Half with 59-45 Win over Davis

    Senior Mia Fleming-Mullins scored 11 of her game-high 26 points in the second half to help St. Francis post a 59-45 win over Davis Tuesday. The win was the fourth straight in league play as the Troubadours improved to 5-1. Junior Mackenzie Le finished with a career-high in both points (21) and steals (7) while dishing six assists.

    Mackenzie Le (pronounced Leh) is in her second season with the varsity team. She is coming off a 21-point, seven steal and six assist game vs. Davis. She leads the Delta League in assists per game, while ranking fourth overall in the Sac-Joaquin Section and seventh in Division I in the state. She has an older brother that goes to Creighton and younger brother and sister.
  • Basketball Extends League Win Streak, Drops Close Game in Lamorinda Classic

    The St. Francis basketball team posted a 50-37 victory over Sheldon Friday night to win their third straight Delta League to move into sole second place in the standings. Jasmine Lee hit two key three pointers in the third quarter that stopped a Huskie rally and rallied the team.

    Nicole Rivera is in her second year on the varsity and is averaging season-bests of 8.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists while hitting 27 three-pointers. She has scored in double figures in seven games this season including a season-high 14 against Ridgeview. She is the school’s nominee for Jersey Mikes Naismith Courage Award. She overcame an ACL injury entering her freshman year, doubts about her participation in the sport last year and an ankle injury this season. She is Vice President of the La Familia Club outside of hoops.

    Hannah Dorsey is playing her second season on the varsity team and is in her fourth year in the program. She also played two years of water polo, earning a varsity letter as a sophomore. She scored a season-high eight points against Basha at the Nike Tournament of Champions and tallied a career-high 26 as a freshman against Sac High.

    Sophomore Carolina Ingenito and junior Natalie Graybill combined for 13 points off the bench in a 70-45 win over Pleasant Grove on Tuesday. It was the second straight league win as the team improved to 3-1 in Delta League play.

    The St. Francis Gymnasium got a face left over the break with new black bleachers, replacing the red bleachers that were showing their age. They give a totally new feel to the gym and the #TroubieTakeover atmosphere. Thank you to our maintenance staff for their hard work in getting these installed over the break.
