Spring Delta League awards announced
June 01, 2022SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis’ Kevin Warren, Julia Southard and Brian Nabeta each earned Coach of the Year honors in softball, lacrosse and swimming, respectively, while softball pitcher Hope Jenkins and lacrosse midfielder Zahra Smith were both selected as the Player of the Year for her sport as the Delta League rolled out its full slate of spring sports awards following the conclusion of the Sac-Joaquin Section postseason. -
Joaquin closes 2022 track season at CIF state meet
May 28, 2022CLOVIS, Calif. – Senior Cate Joaquin placed 14th in the girls’ 3,200-meter run as the lone St. Francis representative on the final day of the CIF State Track & Field Championships at Buchanan High Saturday. The future Georgetown Hoya crossed in a time of 10 minutes, 49.23 seconds. -
Cornejo leads Troubies on Day 1 of state meet

St. Francis takes fourth at SJS Div. I championships
May 12, 2022EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – Senior Tatiana Cornejo won the girls’ 800 meters with a personal record of two minutes, 13.19 seconds while senior Cate Joaquin broke her own school 1,600 meters record with a second-place time of 4:46.42 seconds, then nearly ran down Del Oro’s Riley Chamberlain in the 3,200 en route to another runner-up performance, leading St. Francis to a fourth-place team finish at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I track & field championships at Oak Ridge High Thursday. -
Jenkins, Joaquin earn SF Boosters athletics awards
May 10, 2022SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Softball catcher/outfielder Grace Jenkins and cross country/distance runner Cate Joaquin snared the two Booster Club awards during St. Francis High School’s year-end student awards ceremony Tuesday afternoon. Jenkins claimed the Leadership Award while Joaquin was bestowed with the Scholar-Athlete Award. -

Pelfrey sets school record as Troubies lead at Delta League track championships
April 30, 2022ELK GROVE, Calif. – Junior Maddie Pelfrey broke and re-broke the school pole vault record twice over to win the individual championship in that event, while senior Cate Joaquin led a 1-2-3 finish in the 3,200-meter run for another varsity title, to lead St. Francis in the varsity portion of the Delta League track & field championships at Sheldon-Pleasant Grove Community Stadium Saturday. -

Towne hits 400 PR at Delta League center meet
April 20, 2022CARMICHAEL, Calif. – Sophomore Kayla Towne won the girls’ varsity 400-meter race with a personal-best time of 61.44 seconds, senior Tatiana Cornejo won the varsity 3,200, while sophomore Elise Blomquist also scored an event win in the frosh/soph shot put, highlighting St. Francis at the second Delta League track & field center meet Wednesday at Jesuit High. -

Pelfrey won the pole vault with a leap of 11 feet, six inches; while Riley hit personal records in each of the varsity discus and shot put. -

March 22, 2022CARMICHAEL, Calif. - Junior Lauren Riley won both the shot put and discus throw to highlight St. Francis action in the annual “Holy Spikes” track meet with area rival Christian Brothers Tuesday afternoon at Jesuit Stadium. The Troubadours outdueled the visiting Falcons, 80-43, in the final team scoring. -
Cornejo, Joaquin break school 1,600 record in Dublin
March 19, 2022DUBLIN & ELK GROVE, Calif. - Seniors Tatiana Cornejo and Cate Joaquin each broke the St. Francis school 1,600-meter run record, placing fourth and fifth in that event at the Dublin Distance Fiesta at Dublin High. Meanwhile at Sheldon High School, pole vaulter Maddie Pelfrey and hurdler Magdalena Becerril each won their respective events at the Husky Invitational, highlighting the first full weekend of St. Francis track & field action for the 2022 season. -

February 26, 2022ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Junior Maddie Pelfrey won the girls’ varsity pole vault with a leap of 11 feet, six inches at Oakmont’s Glenn Poole Invitational, kicking off the 2002 St. Francis High School track & field season.
