Izabel Quackenbush is a two-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse who has also played basketball, soccer and run cross country during her first three seasons on campus. She is currently running for SBO Secretary for next year's student council.
What are you excited for the start of the lacrosse season?
"I think it is going to be super fun and I am now officially an upper classman. I get to take the leadership role on the team. I am comfortable and know everyone in the program."
What do you see as your role on the field?
"My role is definitely on the defensive side and taking the leadership role to help the new girls find their place on defense."
How have you improved over your first two seasons?
"I have improved my confidence. When I started, I was very timid because I was new to the sport. I am not afraid to be vocal to be able to tell people how they can fix but also be willing to ask questions to learn myself."
Do you have a favorite Lacrosse moment as a Troubie?
"During my freshman season, we had a game in the Bay area. We were down and we came back to beat them by one point. It was my first intense game."
Why do you wear No. 15?
"It is a funny coincidence. When I played soccer my number was 9 and picked it because I was nine when I started playing. Fifteen was the last number left when I joined as a freshman and I was 15 at the time. It worked out well and was really funny."
What has been your favorite part of being a multi-sport athlete, playing eight different seasons in four different sports?
"My favorite aspect is being able to play with different people. This year I have had two different teams and both are equally special. I love both of my teams and I would not trade them for anything. With cross country there are so many people but we are so close. Lacrosse is a whole different environment with a welcoming family. Now with some of my teammates I get to do both with them."
Why should your classmates vote for you for SBO Secretary?
"I love the school and have been doing sports and been involved in different things. I have been on student council since freshman year and I have wanted this position for a while and I think I could really help out."
What is a fun fact about Quack?
"I have two older brothers and we are all five years a part."
