Montoya named as SF head flag football coach
March 02, 2026SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Steve Montoya, one of the architects of Ponderosa High’s flag football success, will take over as the head varsity flag football coach at St. Francis Catholic High School, Director of Athletics Ryan Chisolm announced Monday. The 2026 season begins in August, although Montoya’s appointment will include the school’s youth summer camp in June plus preseason workouts and other organized team activities. -
McDougall, Gutierrez leads fall All-SFL winners

October 29, 2025ANTELOPE, Calif. – Junior Tayli Paeu-Lindgren scored a touchdown on each side of the ball while senior running back Jade Abalateo caught a go-ahead scoring pass with 1:25 remaining, but Antelope marched 66 yards down the field in the final 85 seconds for the game-winner as St. Francis lost, 34-33, in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II girls’ flag football championship tournament Wednesday night. -
